about

PLEASE DOWNLOAD THE WHOLE ALBUM. SHARE IT WITH YOUR FRIENDS. THANK YOU!

The original concept: 15 track hip hop album, exclusively influenced by the works of "A Tribe Called Quest", "Black Star" and K-Murdock of "Panacea"

The end result: 10 track experimental album, influenced by an unknown number of genres.

The lesson: the revision process never ends.

I've been living in a music bubble for some years now. I stopped listening to the radio when I was 12, I turned off MTV, VH1 and BET. I stopped obsessing over the top ten songs on iTunes. I entered another realm, started listening to artists like Atmosphere, Aesop Rock, Mos Def, Black Star, A Tribe Called Quest, Nas, Lupe Fiasco, Modest Mouse, Jimi Hendrix, The Roots, Wyclef Jean, Herbie Hancock, The Grateful Dead, to name a few.

"Divine Pools of the Past" will hopefully take you back to simpler times, when albums had motives apart from reaching the top of the charts.

This album is not easily categorized, so don't begin to try.

**IMPORTANT NOTE**

For the best sound quality, listen with head phones. Thanks.

I'd like to thank the following people who made this project possible:

Russell Currie, my Electronic Music teacher and my mentor.

Scott Latzky, my percussion teacher and friend, who taught me how to groove.

Noel Quinones, whose vision of the album made the final product.

Maddy Reagan, her vocals gave this album the soul it was lacking.

Zack Cohen, the most versatile musician I know, thanks for all of your hard work in the mixing, editing and sound manipulation departments.

AG, another mentor, a friend, a collaborator. Thanks for helping polish tracks. Don't sleep on us, big things are in the works for the summer.

Michael Brooks, for making the dope ass cover art!

Oliver Levine - thanks for reading all my raps, even if they didn't make it into the final project.

Friends - thanks for the constructive criticism.
